My Advanced Communications class has been given the privilege of designing a blog for a new magazine. The name of the magazine is Heal Magazine and, although it does not launch until May of 2007, can be found online at http://www.healtoday.com/. Heal Today will be a magazine dealing with the subject of cancer. It will be launched from Cure Magazine, which is found at http://www.curetoday.com/. The two magazines are not identical. Cure deals with issues that cancer patients deal with on a daily basis, and “helping readers get well” (http://www.healtoday.com/). Heal will focus on cancer survivorship, and “is about staying well in mind, body and spirit” (http://www.healtoday.com/).
Recent Classwork:
The class decided on a few sidebar categories to focus on. The first were focused on “Mind, Body and Spirit.” Since then, more sidebar topics have come up, and now the class is split into groups to come up with links for each of them. My group is focusing on “Best Cancer Blogs”, “Body”, and “Just for Kids.” Since the group work has begun, we have come up with numerous links for the categories which I will discuss now.
The links were mostly found on Google (http://www.google.com/) and varied depending on what sidebar category we were focusing on. So far, we came up with the following.
